Tokyo-June 13, 2006---Faith, Inc. (Faith) (TSE: 4295) announces the launching of a new authentication technology to protect safely and conveniently digital rights related to audio/video content utilizing FeliCa, a non-contact IC card.

Thanks to the new technology, digital entertainment which so far was accessible only on the mobile phone through which it was purchased can be enjoyed on TVs, PCs, game consoles and other terminals compatible with FeliCa, by simply placing a mobile phone equipped with a FeliCa chip over a reader.

In the new authentication technology, digital rights information for content purchased over a mobile phone is first recorded into the FeliCa chip. Next, digital rights information is authenticated through a FeliCa port and high resolution video content optimized for terminals such as PCs is replayed. The use of the mobile phone for personal authentication upon each playback helps to prevent fraud such as ID and password misappropriation, as well as illegal reproduction, because it is relatively unlikely for mobile phones to be misused by somebody else. Moreover, it provides an interface featuring user-ease, since the content can be enjoyed just by placing the mobile phone over the reader.

Faith will apply the new authentication technology in order to implement a variety of solutions linking FeliCa-compatible terminals and mobile services.
