Faith, Inc. announces entertainment content distribution
technology for Intel® Viiv™
- New technology connecting gIntel® Viiv™ technologyh and mobile terminals is released at IDF (Intel Developer Forum Japan 2006) -
|Tokyo-April 6, 2006---Faith, Inc. (Faith) (TSE: 4295) announces the launching of a new service platform technology using mobile terminal, which is based on gIntel Viiv technologyh developed by Intel Corporation (Intel).
Intel Viiv technology is Intelfs platform designed to make digital contents including moving images and music accessible from practically anywhere in the house such as the living room, bedroom, bathroom, etc.
Faithfs new service platform technology offers solutions for digital rights authentication and distribution, enabling users to transfer content distributed/purchased on a mobile terminal onto other home electronic devices, and to have it optimized for each particular device.
By recording the rights information for the content the user has purchased into the mobile terminal, and by allowing the content to be temporarily played from a mobile terminal onto an Intel Viiv technology device, using short-distance transmission, the mobile terminal itself offers proof that the purchaser/right holder of the content is next to the Intel Viiv technology compatible device upon which the content is being played. As the content delivery server distributes digital entertainment optimized for each Intel Viiv technology device, content can be played on a variety of devices in its optimal format, while protecting content rights.
Faith connects mobile terminals with Intel Viiv technology compatible devices, enabling content that so far could only be enjoyed on mobile terminals to be played on wide-screen TVs and high-quality speakers. Moreover, just by connecting the mobile terminal to Intel Viiv technology compatible devices outside the house, users can literally genjoy high-quality digital entertainment anytime, anywhereh, be it at a friendfs house, in a restaurant, or in the car.
The technology was announced in the keynote speech of the Intel Developer Forum Japan 2006 (IDF), and actual booth demonstrations are featured at the forum.
Faith plans to continue its joint efforts with Intel in order to provide a new scheme for the distribution of digital contents.
A global leader in the silicon technology revolution, Intel promotes development and initiatives in cutting-edge technologies and products aimed at enriching peoplefs work and life environment.
